David Hernandez was born in Los Angeles in the Community of Lincoln Heights. His Birth Certificate lists his Father’s occupation as a Banana Loader as he unloaded freight cars of produce. With hard work, education and opportunity his father retired as Vice President of a Nationwide Commercial Trucking Insurance Company.
After graduating High School, David enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from 1967-1971. David is a Vietnam Veteran.
For twenty-five years David worked as an independent insurance adjuster ten of which he operated his own Independent Insurance Adjusting Company.
As Chairman of the Committee for Accountability and Good Government in Los Angeles, David is leading the Challenge to the City of Los Angeles’s attempt to take over the Commercial Trash Industry and create a Monopolized Closed Franchise System impacting all commercial business and apartments in the city of Los Angeles.
David attended Los Angeles Valley College and realizing the importance of Community Colleges served on the Foundation Board of Los Angeles Mission College in Sylmar, California. He served on the board for five years with one year as President. During his term as President he worked to raise funds for Student Scholarships.
David served as the Executive Director of the San Fernando Chamber of Commerce where he actively assisted business, both small and large, in addressing the many challenges which hinder their success.
David led the countywide four-year battle to retain the Cross on the Original Los Angeles County Seal.
David has served on the board of the Youth Service Network for four years. The organization has three group homes for abused boys ages ten to eighteen.
David is a Past Chair of the Board of Justiceville Homeless/USA, the non-profit which provided housing, training and hope for hundreds of Los Angeles homeless.
David has been a candidate for various political offices from Federal to City. With each campaign, he has developed working relationships with community leaders of all parties, faiths and walks of life. David was a Candidate for Lt. Governor of California in 2018.
As an American of Hispanic descent, he like so many, has a strong commitment to family, faith, hard work and service to community.
